About Adventure Bike Rides

Adventure Bike Rides combines the beauty of the Lincolnshire and Yorkshire countryside with the wonderful experience of motorcycling.

Taking you on a stunning journey through the Lincolnshire Wolds (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), our picturesque routes are as much a treat for the eyes as they are for your love of the open road. Finding hidden routes and places you never even knew existed on a peaceful expedition through nature.

Whether you’re after a slalom through off-road terrain and woodland or a tranquil, smooth ride on the open road, treat yourself to a day of biking on the perfect introduction to adventure riding.

Each route has been discovered and developed by me, Martyn Bell, and my riding mates. I’m the lead guide for the team at Adventure Bike Rides and as a Lincolnshire lad, huge motorcycle enthusiast and a former racing driver, I know these roads better than anyone, and can certainly vouch for how amazing they truly are to ride on.

"Riding a bike is an art – a thing that you do because you feel something inside."

A little bit about me

My racing career started on bikes in motocross. Looking for a fresh challenge, I moved into saloon car racing, winning various titles and competitions racing BMWs, and competing in the British Touring Car Championship. I have always been in love with racing, and my passion now lies in motorcycles.

The opportunity to fuse my passion for motorcycling with my knowledge and love of Lincolnshire was simply too good to ignore. For me, there really is no better way to spend a morning or afternoon than navigating through our country roads and trails alongside fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, before sharing stories and a few laughs over a well-earned cuppa.

Our bikes

Our main fleet currently consists of four BMW R1200GS plus two smaller bikes – a BMW F800GS and a BMW G310GS that are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ideally suited to adventure bike riding, the R1200GS boasts an 1170cc partially water-cooled 2-cylinder boxer engine producing 125bhp with 92ft.lb of torque.

It’s semi-active suspension monitors wheel travel and adjusts the damping to suit, with 5 optional riding modes available. Ride-by-wire throttle, ABS, traction control, cruise control and heated grips make the R1200GS a very accomplished and civilised machine.

We provide the bikes, motorcycle expertise and local knowledge; all you need to do is turn up with your helmet, riding gear, and spirit of adventure!
